Congratulations to Kirsten and Olly who tied the knot @thepeartreepurton

When you say Romance, the first place you think of probably isn’t Swindon. Like Essex, it’s a place whose name carries a misleading reputation. We think of The Office, of business parks and arterial roads linking you to the M4. And yet if what you want is the perfect Cotswolds wedding, then I can’t think of a better location.

The truth is we are at the start of the Cotswolds, beautiful, romantic, totally English countryside. The Pear Tree in Purton is exactly that - a 400-year-old former vicarage in the heart of the lush Wiltshire landscape, set in seven acres of rolling fields and forest, with its own vineyard. Indoors, the lighting is perfect, the seating ample, the rooms generous and the staff completely fantastic.

For a wedding photographer it’s a dream come true. Everything organised and in its place, with so many stunning and accessible opportunities for wonderful portrait photos. For a wedding videographer, same rules apply, and the staff go the extra mile to be supportive. As a hybrid shooter, managing photos and viideo on my own, this day, frankly didnt even feel like work.

But that’s probably as much to do with Kirsten and Olly, who were just the loveliest couple. It’s one thing when your bride and groom are great looking, another, when they are charming humans, and absolutely the best when their friends, family and guests are all delightful too. This was one Wiltshire wedding where I didn’t stop smiling and laughing from beginning to end.
