Congratulations to EMMA & LYALL who tied the knot @clockbarn in an absolutely fabulous Hampshire Wedding
I must be the luckiest wedding photographer and videographer in the world. I’m what you would call a hybrid shooter, and I’ve been doing both for hundreds of weddings so I have definitely clocked up my 10 000 hours or whatever the number is.
But that’s not the lucky part. The good fortune comes from having couples and venues who are awesome. I don’t do much promotion, mainly because I’m too busy actually shooting and editing, and most of my work comes from these wonderful people spreading the word for me.
But in this post I have to do a double shout out, because not only were Emma and Lyall just the loveliest, funniest (and hottest) couple, and not only were all their friends and guests like friends I had known for years - generous, funny, warm, instantly likeable people, but this is one of the very best wedding venues I’ve ever shot at.
Clock Barn is a standout barn wedding venue. Nestled in the heart of picturesque Hampshire countryside and combining rustic charm with thoughtful details, it has everything you need. That’s how you would pitch it, right? But the reality is so much more. I was amazed at the variety of locations - from weeping willows to sunset-drenched paddock, from open fields to sylvan glade and the iconic thatched clock tower. The prep rooms are spacious and light, as is the ceremony room. The dance floor has plenty of room to go bonkers, it’s the wedding venue that got everything right.
And that - most importantly - includes the people who run it and work there, who are quite simply the best I think I have ever worked with. Every detail attended to. Subtly looking after the guests, suppliers and schedule so that everything runs... well, like clockwork.
A brilliant day with brilliant people, and a big love to all involved.
